Therapy

We all find ourselves in situations that make us feel overwhelmed, sad, hopeless, conflicted and more. Often time it is a build up that occurs over time with little things that pile up to an unmanageable pile, or sometimes it is an event that changes our world. Some of the things are more unnoticeable then others, so we find ourselves in a place that we don’t quite know how we got to. Whether as an individual, a couple or a family this could be triggered by a minor thing that finds you puzzled or a bigger one that is more obvious.

I believe in a client centered strength based therapy and as we work together we will work on many levels, physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual. We will tackle things from the perception and experience to the behavior and consequences and vice versa. We will look at the past, present and future of your experience as well as your environment in order for you to get a better understanding as to how thing got to where they are and how to allow yourself to overcome patterns that are no longer benefiting you. My job will be to be your coach and cheerleader as you discover more of who you are and what you need to be able to achieve your goals.

Sometimes it’s easy to play things down and try to sweep them under the rug, and through years of training most of us are pretty good at it, but every so often we take a peek at this baggage that we carry with us and it doesn’t take much for us to realize it is only a matter of time before it bursts.

It is challenging to find a therapist, as a crucial piece of the work is about the relationship and trust that develops between you and your therapist. So, how can you trust someone without knowing them?

Well, the truth is, it can take a while. If you are lucky, and some are, you get this gut feeling about someone from just looking at their information online or over the phone, and you connect in person as well, but often times you just need to take a chance and try a few therapists until you find the right fit for you.

You are welcome to call me and encouraged to use the complementary 20 minute informational session over the phone to find out if we could work together. It will be a privilege to work with you.

The first session is typically a double one (an hour and 40 minutes), so that we can get to know each other. After the initial session if we both decide to start working together we decide together to meet on a weekly basis for either 50 minute sessions, or for double ones, depending to your needs and preferences.
